spicing things up. >>> but our top story this morning, phone benedict xvi begins his last week as leader of the world's nearly 1.2 billion catholics. the pope had hoped to make this transition smooth and controversy-free, but that's not to be and new hints of scandal are clouding his final days. allen pizzey has more from rome. >> reporter: there's still no word on whether he'll issue an edict to the conclave to start sooner rather than later after his resignation. but today the spokesman federico hid out of the press for a time he called disorientation in the church to spread slander. it they've spoken of a gay lobbyist homosexual private whose activities have not only gone against church teachings but have left them and by an extension of the vatican open the blackmail. the three cardinals who compiled the report will meet with pope benedict on monday a sign of how seriously he takes the issue. what's not clear is whether the dossier will be handed to the cardinals before they go into the conclave before they consider the next pope or whether it will b
